    Shadow Work is a collection of songs that documents my journey back to self. It initially looks to my past, some pretty dark times and moves through these of reflection, acceptance, healing and transformation. I am releasing these songs in 2020 in order to let go of a lot of past pain and to set my intentions for the present and the future. I am making space for new blessings. Looking back and allowing myself to feel so that I can truly heal and move forward. I am changing my life experience by letting this music out into the world. I was very afraid to do so for a long time. The content in the songs is very personal and I was scared about repercussions and judgment but I have moved into my power and with the support of the wonderful people around me I feel it's an important step to take. I refuse to reside in shame any longer. Shadow Work is the difficult task we must undertake in order to be able to change our life experience... dealing with the hidden parts of ourselves that cause us issues, working through the darkness, the pain and the stored negative thought patters, the intergenerational trauma and all that no longer serves us. There is no light without the dark and this is my collection of songs that moved between these phases and beyond.

Butterfly is the antidote. Butterfly celebrates healthy self-love. Butterfly is intended as a soothing balm made up of essential oils, tropical fruits, flowers and fresh water. I'm singing about my own healing and transformation, how far I've come from my childhood and since the abuse, since being held in a virtual cage away from my creativity for so long. I now view that time as the chrysalis stage. I'm acknowledging that we all deserve to feel good, to take off the stress, to be happy, to be proud of ourselves. It's a testimony to positive love and good mental health. To all the work I invested in to get better... therapy, meditation, breathing, mindfulness, Reiki, nutrition, plant medicine, herbs and my own two year toxic love addiction recovery program that I devised for myself! The imagery of a butterfly fluttering is brought to life by the gorgeous flute solo provided by the talented Nathan "Flutebox" Lee (Asian Dub Foundation). I wrote this song with Renell at his house and we were just vibing, Renell sampled David Attenborough talking about the secret life of butterflies and I just wanted to feel free, I wanted the listeners to feel like they were held and loved, I wanted to give them a massage with my voice. I wanted to counteract so much of the negative connotations of love in popular culture and music and wanted to let everybody know that I'm better, that I'm back, that I'm ready to fly and that I hope we can all take off together and just feel good ❤️
